Two of the panels depict scenes of outdoor banqueting with tables set with vessels, including cups with stands similar to this pair. A point of controversy has been whether the vessels depicted in the panel paintings are ceramic or metal. This type of lobed cup and stand have their prototype in metal examples and were later imitated in ceramic. Metal examples may also have been more finely deatiled than their ceramic counterparts. For example, in the center of the stand is a ring of lotus petals and a central medallion incised to resemble a lotus seed pod. Also on the bottom of the silver cup is incised a single indecipherable character or glyph.
","remarks":"as per object file group chat for 2002-135 a-b and 2002-136 a-b"}],"media":[{"id":218851,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/PUAMSTU2018-1932954","isprimary":0,"rank":4,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"PUAM Photo"},{"id":218852,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/PUAMSTU2018-1932962","isprimary":0,"rank":2,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"PUAM Photo"},{"id":218853,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/PUAMSTU2018-1932968","isprimary":0,"rank":5,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"PUAM Photo"},{"id":218854,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/PUAMSTU2018-1932972","isprimary":0,"rank":6,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"PUAM Photo"},{"id":218855,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/PUAMSTU2018-1932982","isprimary":1,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"PUAM Photo"},{"id":218856,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/PUAMSTU2018-1932986","isprimary":0,"rank":3,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"PUAM Photo"},{"id":715,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2002-135A-B","isprimary":0,"rank":10,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Luna Digitization Project"}],"hasimage":"true","bibliography":[{"boilertext":"\"Acquisitions of the Princeton University Art Museum 2002,\" Record of the Princeton University Art Museum 62 (2003): p. 107-161.","citation":"\"Acquisitions of the Princeton University Art Museum 2002,\" Record of the Princeton University Art Museum 62 (2003): p. 107-161., p. 143","date":2003,"id":3022,"uri":"https://www.jstor.org/stable/3774824"}],"exhibitions":[],"geography":[{"displaygeography":"Place made: Asia, China","code":"Place made","continent":"Asia","subcontinent":null,"country":"China","region":null,"state":null,"city":null,"county":null,"subregion":null,"locale":null,"locus":null,"river":null,"excavation":null,"geoname":"http://www.geonames.org/1814991/people-s-republic-of-china.html","location":{"lat":"","lon":""}}],"terms":[{"id":2076348,"term":"wine cups","aatid":300218966,"termtype":"Classification"},{"id":2049167,"term":"ceramics","aatid":300151343,"termtype":"Classification"},{"id":2033355,"term":"Chinese","aatid":300018322,"termtype":"Culture"},{"id":2033553,"term":"Northern Song","aatid":300018432,"termtype":"Period / Style"},{"id":2033707,"term":"Chinese ceramics styles","aatid":300018504,"termtype":"Classification"},{"id":2159828,"term":"floral patterns","aatid":300010135,"termtype":"Subject"},{"id":2151556,"term":"glazing (coating)","aatid":300053914,"termtype":"Materials"},{"id":2160764,"term":"porcelain","aatid":300010662,"termtype":"Materials"}],"classifications":[{"id":2049167,"classification":"ceramics"},{"id":2076348,"classification":"wine cups"},{"id":2033707,"classification":"chinese ceramics styles"}],"cultures":[{"id":13592,"culture":"Chinese","alphasort":"Chinese","begindate":0,"enddate":0,"displayculture":"Chinese","displaydate":null}],"cultureterms":[{"id":2033355,"culture":"Chinese"}],"periods":[{"id":12556,"period":"Northern Song dynasty","alphasort":"Northern Song","begindate":960,"enddate":1127,"displayperiod":"Northern Song dynasty, 960–1127","displaydate":"960–1127"}],"periodterms":[{"id":2033553,"period":"Northern Song"}],"attribute_groups":[{"id":2199319,"term":"Asian Art","termtype":"Collecting Area"}],"dimensionelements":[{"element":"Overall","type":"Height","units":"centimeters","dimension":"4.10"},{"element":"Overall","type":"diam.","units":"centimeters","dimension":"14.60"},{"element":"Overall","type":"Height","units":"centimeters","dimension":"4.40"},{"element":"Overall","type":"diam.","units":"centimeters","dimension":"11.10"}],"packages":[{"packageid":278831,"name":"10282025-DAY1-ONVIEW"},{"packageid":214208,"name":"Gallery_13-15(Pavilion4)-Asian"},{"packageid":207234,"name":"SAB_Gala2021"}],"primaryimage":["https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/PUAMSTU2018-1932982"],"displaymaker":null,"displayculture":"Chinese","displayperiod":"Northern Song dynasty, 960–1127","caption":"Chinese, Northern Song dynasty (960–1127), Flower-shaped Wine Cup and Stand.
