The calligraphy is arranged in a grid forming a rectangular block. Mounted under the sutra is the figure of hooded Guanyin seated in a cave. These two rubbings may have been taken from a Heart Sutra and Guanyin Stele recorded in a Qing edition of the Jiaoshan zhi 焦山志 gazetteer.
