After Cock’s death, Galle established his own publishing house. While neither Galle’s name nor his initials appears on the Caritas print that was engraved by Galle and published by Cock, Galle’s name appears twice in this engraving, once to signify that Galle was the engraver and once to signal that he was also the publisher. Brueghel’s name also appears on the print, where he is credited as the designer.
