Cut into the top of the cliff is a stone niche {or small shrine}, on whose base are inscriptions by Li Li and others, dating from the first year of the Changqing reign-period (821) of the Tang dynasty. [Other inscriptions] include the \"Record [commemorating the building of] the Niche-shrine of Demonstrating Meritorious Deeds\" at Fang Shan (Mount Fang), written by Mou Dang in the eighth year of the Dazhong era (854), and words by Huang Yanhui in the second year of Qingtai (935), and by others.
