They incorporate Greek and Etruscan myths and techniques, exemplifying the intensely connected world of the ancient Mediterranean. On one side, enclosed by columns, are the divine Greek twins Castor and Pollux, known as the Dioscuri, who face a winged Lasa, an Etruscan deity associated with death. The other side features the Judgment of Paris, in which the Greek hero determined which goddess among Aphrodite, Hera, and Athena was the most beautiful, a choice that ultimately led to the abduction of Helen and the Trojan war. Three lion paws support the body, which is surmounted by winged figures; the handle is formed with the bodies of a satyr and a maenad; and the lid’s surface is engraved with sea creatures.","remarks":"MED2_22_CLA.pdf – Day One Cataloguing"}],"media":[{"id":89818,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_f","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89819,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_e","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89820,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_d","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89821,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_c","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89822,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_b","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89823,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_a","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89824,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_c_low_angle","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89825,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_a_low_angle","isprimary":1,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"},{"id":89826,"uri":"https://media.artmuseum.princeton.edu/iiif/3/collection/2011-154_a-b_view_a_low_angle_dark","isprimary":0,"rank":1,"mediatypeid":1,"mediaviewtype":"(not assigned)","restrictions":null,"caption":"Bruce White Photography"}],"hasimage":"true","bibliography":[{"boilertext":"\"Acquisitions of the Princeton University Art Museum 2011,\" Record of the Princeton University Art Museum 71/72 (2012-13): p. 75-132.","citation":"\"Acquisitions of the Princeton University Art Museum 2011,\" Record of the Princeton University Art Museum 71/72 (2012-13): p. 75-132., p. 78-80 (illus.)","date":2012,"id":2987,"uri":"https://www.jstor.org/stable/24416387"},{"boilertext":"Gabriella Bordenache Battaglia and Adriana Emiliozzi, Le ciste prenestine, (Roma: Consiglio nazionale delle ricerche, 1979-).","citation":"Gabriella Bordenache Battaglia and Adriana Emiliozzi, Le ciste prenestine, (Roma: Consiglio nazionale delle ricerche, 1979-)., Corpus 1, part 2: p. 343-44; no. 108; pl.
