In Scandinavia, she arranged exhibitions for Kandinsky and herself. Kandinsky joined her during these exhibitions, which lasted from December 1915 until March 1916, but then broke off relations with her. Münter continued to paint cityscapes and landscapes in Scandinavia, now with people included. This scene shows characteristics of children’s drawings, one of her interests, and is less bold than her earlier, expressionistic creations.
