In the summer of 1856 he bought a boat that he converted into a floating studio with living quarters. Exploring the Seine, Oise, and Marne Rivers, Daubigny would scout out interesting motifs to paint and sketch en plein air from his small, box-like studio in the back of the boat. A skilled printmaker, Daubigny commemorated one such trip in a charming portfolio of fifteen etchings, including this evocative self-portrait, which shows him busily at work, surrounded by kitchen utensils and artist’s supplies.</P></SPAN>","remarks":"K4-6_rotation_feb2015.pdf"}],"datebegin":1861,"sortnumber":"1937   19xl    bis","published_date":"2026-02-11 13:22:03.965745","objectid":73875,"dimensions":"plate: 13.1 x 8.1 cm.
